What is star lift?

Star lift is a type of lift used in ballet where the male dancer lifts the female dancer horizontally above his head with her back facing the audience. It is an impressive move that requires both dancers to have strong muscles and good balance. The star lift is often used during grand pas de deux (a dance duet) in classical ballet performances and is a crowd-pleasing moment in the show.
